“Once upon a time”, when I was a wee ladd,, my comics came from a news stand somewhere in Beaumont Texas, I tried never to pay the $.10 that they cost and elected to wait and when the new comics came in I would get the throw away's. In those days they would tear off the top portion of the front cover put the comic in a box and return the top portions to the publisher for credit. They were FREE and you had to be fast to get the best pick. At one time I had a box full of throw away’s as did many kids and we would trade back and forth. Now the story.
People started reading DC Comics about Superman in 1938, and has been in our hearts and minds through all these many years teaching the readers about “TRUTH, JUSTICE AND THE AMERICAN WAY”. For many years, children and adults have read “SUPERMAN”, some never stopped and looked forward to getting it in the mail or the news stand every month., only to be stashed in a closet somewhere or tossed in the trash with no formal ceremony.
Now our hero, “MAN OF STEEL” PROTECTOR OF ALL MANKIND” and example “FOR TRUTH, JUSTICE AND THE AMERICAN WAY”, has announced he no longer wants to be a citizen of AMERICA, and is renouncing his U.S. Citizenship. That’s really too bad, Memories will be shattered, lives will come to a halt, Wall Street will crash, The Oceans will rise and the buildings he once “leapt in a single bound”, will come crashing to the ground.

OK enough is enough, he is over 72 years old, Some of the things he has done were outstanding, but PEOPLE!, It’s a comic Book. I have to assume (ASS-U-ME), That the writers do not have the courage or strength to write of cleaning up “AMERICA”.

I guess “Li’ll Abner” will be next to take his Poke Chops and run! “Dick Tracy” will stop fighting crime and move to the dark side of the moon with “Diet Smith”, and since “Batman’s” Butler died, he is gonna turn it over to “Robin” and retire.

Have a good day, and don’t cry over spilt comic characters. Enjoy Fantasy but don’t let it cloud your real purpose in life.

Story with a "JOKE" ending

TRUST ME!


A young man graduated from High School and decided to go into the Army. The day arrived and he went to the recruiting office and was transported to his first assignment, Basic Training.

There are probably ten thousand stories about basic training, and more than likely all have some truth to them. To be short, what you knew and did as a growing Boy, forget it. There are no individuals, only a bunch of unknowing and very patriotic young men.

Basic training is either eight or sixteen week training session that teaches you what your Mommies or daddy tried to teach you in your first eighteen years of life. You get new clothes, a new hair-doo, and in stead of a private room which you may not have kept neat. Now, you are living in a big room with kids like you and learn quickly what you never learned in the first eighteen years, How to clean your room! You learn how to Walk, Talk, shoot a gun, and how to work together. But that is not the story, just that you learn to trust your leaders, and what they tell you.

Now that our Soldier is a trained lean mean fighting machine, he choose to be a paratrooper! For those who do not know what a paratrooper is, it’s a bunch of nuts that jump out of a perfectly good airplane. Up to this point he and his team mates have learned just about everything there is to learn on the ground and time for their first jump.

Morning came they loaded up on the truck to travel to the airport. At the airfield they received their equipment and the instructor began the briefing.

Attention men, for our first jump every effort is made to keep you safe, remember your training and you will be fine and when you are on the ground again, the red truck will be waiting to pick you up. Now remember, jump out, count to ten pull your rip cord.

During your training you learned if your parachute fails to open, you have your reserve, pull it’s rip cord. You now can safely float to the ground, pick up your chute and run to the truck.

Our Paratrooper is in the air feeling good, it’s your turn to jump and you do. You count to ten pull the cord, whoops the chute didn’t open. Oh well I have another chute, you pull that rip cord, wait and oh cheese it didn’t open either ! Well I guess the red truck won’t be there either.


OK! Since this is a Roadrunner Cartoon No one got hurt.
